I had been recommended to contact Daniel regarding issues I had been experiencing with anxiety for around 9-10 months, which had affected many aspects of my every day life. And because the recommendation was so positive, I dispelled any stigma I had in my mind regarding what hypnotherapy may involve etc and I committed to calling Daniel and organising sessions. From first meeting Daniel he made me feel at ease in his company. Using cognitive behavioural therapy he explained scenario after scenario of examples of relatable situations from life, where you could understand almost in light-bulb moments of how they are the same as the situations you have faced. And then you speak about strategies of how you have coped with those well in the past, he explains why you have reacted how you have both mentally and physically with anxiety, and then you marry up solutions that you have already formed in your life previously to deal once and for all with never feeling the same way again. The first 3/4's of the first session is conversational and understand through examples your own situation, and then the last quarter is the actual hypnotherapy which helps embed that learning and the feelings of strength and mindfulness that we all have inside of us. The result of all this (whether some people see it as mumbo jumbo or not), is that I haven't felt since my first session the feelings of anxiety anymore, that were starting to consume my life. I feel empowered and in control now, and that is all thanks to Daniel giving me the tools to do this - I could not recommend Daniel's services enough, and would have happily paid 10 times the cost of his sessions if it means I have the results I do now.

I used Daniel about a year ago to help with an eating anxiety problem I had. In the long run it's made a huge difference, think lot was to do with will power and addressing fears but the sessions really helped me get in the proper mental state needed. I have suffered with anxiety for over 20 years (since childhood). Daniel has been a massive help to me in just 3 sessions. He is extremely knowledgeable and has helped me understand what my anxiety is, what causes it and how to banish it for good. Daniel effectively blends hypnotherapy with discussion, to really understand your specific needs. What is more, Daniel gives you tools to enable you to combat anxiety in day to day life. I started to suffer from anxiety attacks about 12 months ago. It felt like it had ruined every day of my life and didn't look like stopping. I have been to the GP who offered anxiety tablets, these only made me feel worse. It really did start to take over my life. I look back and can't really remember a day that wasn't filled with anxiety or a feeling of imminent catastrophe. I felt like I'd tried everything including homeopathy which gave me some good results for a few days here and there! Mindfulness which helped me understand the anxiety and sit with it. Also really good. I can honestly say I was sceptical about hypnotherapy and couldn't see how it would help. My mind is totally changed!! Dan was absolutely amazing! He wouldn't like me saying this but he is a wizard! I sat in my first session over a week ago and came out feeling quite good. As the days went by I realised... I've not had any fear of anxiety for over a week! I've had times where something made me anxious but that's what I would say is normal "healthy" anxiety. You know, the kind that your mind rightly says.. "that's probably dangerous, don't do that" but it hasn't escalated like it normally does. I can honestly say "I'm cured!" I feel so good and I've finally got my freedom back! My wife is over the moon and hasn't seen me this normal for over a year! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! That's all I can say. I've recommended you to all my friends and family if they ever need you and I would advise anyone who is sceptical to just give Dan a try, what have you got to loose? I have been to see Danny for his 6 session weight loss programme and it has been really remarkable. It has totally changed my relationship with food, given me motivation and confidence and I have already lost 2 stone. Its a no nonsense, tough approach but once you take responsibility it is the easiest thing to do. Danny is friendly and professional and genuinely cares about getting the results you want. Daniel is an excellent Hypnotherapist. I went to him regarding various issues I had rooted in underlying anxiety. The techniques he taught me allowed me to manage my negative thoughts in a constructive and helpful way, as well as dealing with anxiety and controlling run away thought patterns. I had been struggling with anxiety while driving but Daniel has helped me enormously with this. He has had his own problems, which helps him to understand other people’s, so you feel able to open up about things. If you have been putting off getting help, I can assure you that Daniel is very easy to get on with but also very serious about his work. I had three sessions – I wanted to back out of the first one but ended up looking forward to the next one. I was amazed that I actually relaxed in the first hypnotherapy session because I sat in the chair thinking, ‘This is so not going to work.’ But it did. I can confirm what other reviewers have said - Daniel is a great guy and a great hypnotherapist. Good luck with whatever it is that you are dealing with.

Having struggled with air sickness on long haul flights since I was a child (about 30 years!) I finally decided that it was time to do something about it when I wanted to start taking my own children further afield. I was open to the idea of hypnotherapy but I’d never received therapy of any kind and I was nervous about what to expect or whether it would make a difference. I can’t speak highly enough about Daniel and his methods. Almost immediately he helped me to understand the causes of the air sickness: I have always been adamant I wasn’t scared of flying and Daniel explained I actually had a long existing phobia of the sickness itself. Everything started to make so much more sense and over several long conversations we explored the reasons for my high levels of anxiety and different ways of dealing with it. I believe our conversations were all part of the hypnotherapy and the hypnosis itself was fascinating. It’s difficult to explain what it was like under hypnosis but I always found it incredibly relaxing and afterwards I had a strong sense of empowerment, as if anything was possible. I have flown four times since my sessions with Daniel, including flying to Florida, and they have been the best flights of my life. Mostly I have felt calm and excited about my holidays. I have been able to ‘give myself a break’ and understand myself a little better. All I can say is ‘thank you’ to Daniel. To be honest, I now miss our conversations!

I went to Daniel as a sufferer of a debilitating condition called Globus. Its basically a persistent cough. Having tried every medical avenue available, even acupuncture, this was my last hope. I had three sessions, and saw a small improvement after the first, and a huge improvement after the second. The third nicely capped off the treatment. Without going into the detail, Daniel found the words to give me a particular mind set. I don't really care how it works, I just know I'm 90% improved! If I find the cough coming back, I wouldn't hesitate to have another couple of sessions. I heartily recommend Daniel.

Dan is absolutely fantastic, I can not thank him for his understanding and expertise. I first contacted him when I was having issues with confidence. I work in a high pressured targeted environment. Since becoming a mother I have found it hard to keep my self belief in managing my work & my children. I was slightly sceptical, but he has worked a miracle. Dan, has a great manner and will be honest with you. He is very supportive, understanding. As a hypnotist you can have 110% faith in his ability he has really altered my thoughts and given me the power to believe in myself to be successful. Daniel is such a lovely guy. Took his time out to listen to my issues at Christmas as I felt at a low point. Attended appointment with Daniel who is very understanding of each person's feelings and requirements. At first I didn't (i thought) feel any different but as I repeated his words and did my own meditation, I knew I felt a lot happier within myself and the having the power not to smoke has helped me tenfold. Not longer do I feel over powered by nicotine as his book gave me the power to stop by the time I got half way through. This review was meant to be written some months back but just found how to do it now... Sorry Daniel..better late than never. If you need a few sessions with Daniel, you won't be disappointed!!! I am so glad that Leeds Hypnotherapy Clinic came up first on my search for help; it’s exactly the service I was hoping for. Amazing! The best decision our family has made in years. I Can highly recommend Daniel. I contacted Daniel in March 2018 as my daughter has been suffering from anxiety for several years. her main worries were about being ill (her being sick, which she never is!), going on buses with school (others being bus sick) and using the school toilets. Over the past 4 years we have tried many interventions. Watching my daughter suffer from anxiety was heartbreaking. Illness anxiety did not always show but if someone was ill at school it triggered it, so much so I could not get her out of the car into school. I spoke to Daniel on the phone and he suggested 4 shorter sessions due to my daughters age. Daniel was so amazing I could shout his name from the rooftops! He worked with Emily and myself explaining everything to us at her level and giving us ideas to try at home. After 2 sessions there was a definite change, after 4 sessions, WOW! she CAN now use the school toilets, Can now go on the buses, is not so worried about germs. My daughter is so much happier and confident. If it was not for Daniel and his excellent skills and knowledge I don't know what we would have done. He has been the only one to be able to help her in the last 4 years. He gave us tools to use everyday simple things that have been so successful, and longterm ones that we do without thinking now. FANTASTIC, AMAZING, EXCELLENT If you think you need help, I believe it will be the best decision you will make. I went to see Daniel about a month ago to help manage a lifelong battle with anxiety/anger and what I always thought was depression. I had three sessions with Daniel, the sessions where a mixture of talking/meditation, the outcome of this has been incredible for me , I actually for the first time in my life feel fully equipped to deal with “life”.. I’m a much more positive and better person in myself , happier, calmer and much more in control of my thoughts/actions. I have had hypnotherapy in the past , which was actually cheaper but under no circumstances did it compere to the sessions with Daniel. I had a huge phobia of flying to the point of hysterically crying on the plane. I had 3 therapy sessions with Dan in August. I have just returned to the UK from France and it was an entirely different flying experience! The only tears were ones of pride and happiness when the journey was over. Danny helped me through probably the most difficult time of my life . The loss of my mother hit me badly and I struggled for years to come to terms with it . Danny was my last resort as the pain of my loss was affecting my work and my family too . I had one visit with Danny and I haven't had a break down since. After failing my driving test 3 times due to terrible nerves, I had to do something to deal with them as I knew I could drive!! I’d read about hypnotherapy before and decided to try Daniel. I’m so glad I did!!! After one session, I had my forth driving test the following week and passed with flying colours! What Daniel spoke about during my session will help me in all areas of my life, especially around my anxiety. The session itself was very relaxed and Daniel is a wonderful person! He also has the comfiest chair I’ve ever sat on :D If anyone is feeling a bit stuck with anxiety about anything, which doesn’t go away no matter what you try, I can absolutely recommend going to speak to Daniel :)

I cannot sing Daniel's praises enough. Before I saw Daniel I had crippling anxiety and intrusive thoughts. I was on medication and saw at least 3 different therapist but nothing was working.... And then I came across Daniel. Immediately he made me feel relaxed and he was easy to talk to. His knowledge and understanding of anxiety and the way he explained what anxiety really was helped me feel relieved straight away. After just one session I felt a weight was lifted of my shoulders. 2 years later I am off my medication and probably so laud back I'm horizontal. However the good thing about Daniel is that I know if anything did happen he will always be there to help as he is always easy to her hold of and replies very quickly. Basically if you are struggling with anything and feel you need that extra help to get better call Daniel it will be the best decision you make!

I had a great experience when I went for my session at the Leeds Hypnotherapy clinic with Daniel. A very thorough service, lovely relaxed atmosphere that immediately put me at ease; Daniel explained everything to me in detail and spent a long time talking with me before the hypnotherapy began. I initially approached Daniel to help with my anxiety, specifically in regard to upcoming job interviews and I noticed an improvement in my mood instantly- I left the appointment feeling positive, happy and motivated, the feeling of dread that I had been experiencing disappeared overnight. Just over a week after my session, I was successful at interview for a job I really wanted. In the past my nerves and anxiety had got in my way, particularly with interviews and observed lessons, but since the hypnotherapy session I was able to face my fears and even enjoyed the experience a little. I would highly recommend Daniel MCDermid at the Leeds Hypnotherapy Clinic, I had a fantastic experience with great results.

I had been suffering with anxiety for a number of years but when my mother became unwell about 5 years ago (and then passed away), my ‘high functioning’ anxiety turned into PTSD and then Agoraphobia. At my worst, I could not leave my house for 3 weeks and I was so depressed as I couldn’t see a happy future for myself. I tried every single method I could find, to try and ‘cure’ myself. I have honestly spent over $20K + on so many different therapies (therapists, hypnotherapists, naturopaths, energy healers, acupuncture, tapping, special diets etc) and although some gave me some temporary relief, I would always go backwards and find myself at square one. When I found Daniel at Leeds Hypnotherapy, I will admit that I was a bit dubious about whether he could help me. I spent a lot of times reading reviews and researching him and then decided, after a number of months, to give him a try. I am so thankful that I did. Daniel has a VERY different approach to anxiety (and healing) and he really simplifies things. I had a number of ‘ah ha’ moments and it really opened my eyes as to WHY I was reacting the way I was and why I was struggling with getting over my agoraphobia. He is such a genuine, kind, intelligent guy who sincerely wants to helps. He made sure that I kept him up to date with my progress and gave me encouragement and different pointers on challenges I was experiencing with my agoraphobia. Without his support, I know that I would have fallen backwards again because that was the habit I had fallen into. I honestly can not speak highly enough about Daniel and I feel that it is important that people know about him because there are people (like myself) who feel quite desperate and lost in regards to finding ‘the answer’ to their anxiety. I know that Daniel is that ‘missing piece’ to the puzzle. Thank you so much Daniel…..you really have a special gift..!!!

I visited Daniel a couple of years ago for help with my stammer which I had all my life. I was mid 50 and it had started to trouble me in my business life as an architect. Over a course of 3 sessions we explored various aspects of my stammer and the results were fantastic. My stammer is much reduced to such an extent I am surprised when I do trip up, but more importantly my confidence has returned in meetings and my self belief is higher than before. I went to Daniel with stage fright and public speaking phobia while I was getting ready for my first ever speech in front of 400 work colleagues and senior management team. 3 weeks later I delivered confident, smiley, inspirational short talk and I actually enjoyed it! The nerves that previously would lead to me not wanting to get up there turned into excitement. I didn't have to use my notes. I was able to walk up to the podium confidently and look some people in the audience in the eye. Daniel is a great guy meeting him was a pleasure.He puts you at ease and explains things very well.I found his sessions very helpful.I was stuck in a rut after my knee injury and after my 2nd session i found i was getting myself back.My issues were not there anymore and since then i joined the gym which was the last thing i felt like doing.My outlook on things have changed and have learnt alot.I would recommend him as there are times when we just need that little assistance when we get into situations that we are unable to get out of them ourselves.Thankyou for your help.

We contacted Daniel to help with our 11yr old son's constant 'habit cough', which had been consuming all our lives for months. We really were desperate as nothing at all helped and the harsh barking cough was incessant. Daniel was amazing with our son and after two one hour sessions the cough lessened considerably and over the following days ceased entirely and hasn't returned since. To say I was apprehensive about hypnotherapy as a whole before actually trying it is an understatement. I can now confidently say it is the best thing I have ever done and I couldn’t recommend it more. Daniel makes the whole experience enjoyable and is a true master of his art.
